Managing Archives in Rail-Related Memory Institutions

I am currently studying for an MSc in Information Management and Preservation at University of Glasgow. My dissertation will take the form of a study on the management and promotion of archives and collections in rail-related memory institutions across the UK.

In order to get a complete picture of the material held in the sector, I will be running three separate surveys: One for heritage railways, one for line associations and one for railway museums and archives. Participants in each survey will be asked some basic administrative questions about their organisation, followed by a set of questions dealing specifically with archives and records management within the organisation.

The surveys will identify the unique challenges and issues facing archives in rail-related organisations, and from that suggest changes that would allow organisations to manage and promote their holdings more effectively.

These surveys should take no more than 10 minutes to complete and the closing date is 13th July 2020. For more information about this research or if you have any questions, please email me. To take the survey, please follow the appropriate link below.
